Brian Borcherdt, founder of noisy dance experiment Holy Fuck, embarked on an entirely new path in 2012 with the release of his debut Dusted album, Total Dust, on Polyvinyl. The transition between these two projects was described as the comedown to the wild night before. Fittingly,  Borcherdt set out on tour with the likes of Perfume Genius and Great Lake Swimmers.

A successful balance between has played out over the last decade. Dusted’s surprise hit, Property Lines, led to further soundtrack work as well as frequent collaborations with the late director Jean-Marc Vallee.

After moving back to Nova Scotia to focus on family, Borcherdt has rekindled Dusted with a soon-to-be-released album (featuring Julie Doiron and Alex Edkins of Metz among others), and a minimal yet captivating live show.

Kim Barlow is an enduring presence in the Canadian indie-folk scene, who launched her acclaimed first album Humminah in Whitehorse in the last century. Recently returned to Nova Scotia, Barlow continues to be a creative and eccentric songwriter, skillful on guitar and clawhammer banjo, with several projects underway at all times. She’s recorded seven albums of her own work, earned two Juno nominations (solo and with stringband Annie Lou), and lately runs the busy cooperative Music In Communities in Canning, NS.
